The US military's heavy use of tungsten in munitions fired during the Iran conflict is rapidly depleting domestic stockpiles. Unlike tungsten carbide drill bits which can be recycled, tungsten used in munitions is consumed on detonation, raising urgent concerns about supply chain vulnerability for this critical mineral.
