Aluminum price set for biggest monthly gain since 2018 on Iran war

Aluminum is headed for its biggest monthly gain in almost eight years as the war in the Middle East has disrupted supplies and damaged production facilities. The metal exceeded $3,500 a ton in London, on course for a monthly gain of over 12%, as about a tenth of global aluminum production in the Persian Gulf has been curtailed by the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
