China discusses reopening border trade, cooperation in mining with Myanmar

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Myanmar's leader during a visit to Naypyidaw to discuss the resumption of border trade and cooperation in energy and mining. The discussions could affect supplies of rare earths and tin from the region, where Myanmar has been struggling with a weakened economy and ongoing civil war since the 2021 military coup.
