Africa mining sector at centre of disinformation campaigns: Report

Disinformation campaigns targeting Africa's critical minerals sector reached nearly 300 million users across six countries over the last year, according to a report from AI-powered intelligence platform Refute. The London-based firm identified 2,778 bot accounts responsible for more than 22 million engagements across 21 mining sites in the DRC, Niger, Mali, Rwanda, Guinea and Côte d'Ivoire.
