Albemarle's quarterly profit jumps on rising lithium prices

Albemarle, the world's largest lithium producer, posted first-quarter net income of $319.1 million ($2.34 per share), more than six times higher year-on-year, on the back of rising battery-metal prices and stronger sales. The Charlotte-based company's results signal a meaningful recovery for lithium markets after the price collapse of 2024.
