Arctial aluminum plant in Finland targets production launch in H2 2029

The Rio Tinto-backed Arctial aluminum smelter in northern Finland is targeting first hot metal production in the second half of 2029, the company said at the CRU World Aluminium Conference in London. The 610,000 metric tons per year project would mark a major addition to Europe's strategic aluminum capacity, with a final investment decision expected in 2027.
