A US Department of Energy team at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory has developed an AI-powered system called CICERO that designs and optimizes critical minerals recovery from industrial waste in days instead of months or years. The platform combines AI agents with robotics and automation to dramatically accelerate testing of extraction methods for rare earths and other critical minerals.
