Alba to buy French aluminum smelter in $2.2 billion deal

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) has agreed to acquire the Aluminium Dunkerque smelter in France in a deal valued at about $2.2 billion. The acquisition marks a major expansion of Alba's production footprint into Europe at a time of tight Western aluminum supply.
