Aclara Resources, which aims to build Chile's first rare earth mine, is in talks with the US International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) for funding as the Trump administration works to loosen China's grip on critical minerals. CEO Ramon Barua said the company received positive initial feedback after recent rule changes expanded DFC eligibility to higher-income countries like Chile. Aclara is seeking to replicate an initial $5 million DFC arrangement it secured for its rare earth project in Brazil.
