Analysts warn that China could retaliate against Western efforts to curb its dominance over critical metals, in the wake of G7 measures and proposed rare earth price floors. China's new Mineral Resources Law, which took effect this week, gives Beijing a formal legal basis to fight foreign restrictions threatening its mineral security.
