Indonesia's Alamtri starts aluminium exports, ships metal to the US

A smelter owned by Indonesia's PT Alamtri Resources made its first aluminium exports in June, shipping 31,494 tonnes of primary aluminium to the US and 3,569 tonnes to South Korea, according to trade data platform Export Genius. The US has been seeking alternative aluminium supply after Gulf deliveries were disrupted by the US-Israeli war on Iran, which pushed US premiums to record highs. The new Borneo-based capacity marks fresh non-Gulf supply entering the market.
